PhilHealth and WAH Forge Partnership in Pangasinan

The implementation of the Philippine Health Information Exchange (PHIE) is set; and with this lies the requirement for all public clinics to do electronic reporting to PhilHealth beginning January 2016. PhilHealth came out with a list of accredited EMR providers in its May 5 Circular (013-2016) and WAH is one of only six EMR providers tasked to help PhilHealth and DOH connect more than 2,590 public clinics to the PHIE.
Of WAH’s 140 clinics nationwide, 13 are from the Province of Pangasinan. The latter together with !locos Sur are the two fastest growing #wahcommunities in the country. As such, the invitation of PhilHealth Regional Office 1 for WAH to speak during the 3-day orientation with the Primary Care Benefit (PCB) providers in the Province came at a very opportune time. The event provided opportunity for WAH to clarify with PCB providers the “commonality” of all the accredited EM Rs in that they all develop their platform following a reference model agreed by the DOH and PhilHealth in consultation with EMR providers.
This collaboration is allowing the EMRs to harmoniously interoperate with PhilHealth and PHIE to generate PCB reports. The series of orientation in Pangasinan showed that WAH is working with PhilHealth to achieve one goal: smooth implementation of the PHIE leading to all health facilities in the Philippines doing electronic reporting by the year 2020.
